About Me

My name is Sarah Sampsel.
I live in Washington, D.C. I’m a lead designer at The Washington Post. That means I create things like the D.C. Charter Schools investigation, Pentagon Memorial package, Choose Your Candidate quiz, Global Warming interactive, and a childhood obesity series, to name a few.

I also run a freelance business, Sarah Sampsel Design. Some of the projects include writing, original illustration, photography, logo design, branding, marketing, web design and print collateral. I’m so creative, I came up with Sarah Sampsel Design all by myself.

Working with clients is a blast. It keeps my designs fresh, my skills current, and I’m lucky to work with so many clients on so many different types of endeavors.

On a more personal level, I grew up in Erie, Pa. I’m a huge fan of my hometown and I never miss an opportunity to go back for a visit. I’m a skier. I’m an outdoorsy person who could spend every waking moment outside biking, hiking, and pretty much anything and everything else. I’m also mildly obsessed with Wegman’s, cooking, sushi, my iPod, and high-definition.
